* Coalition parties of Sri Lanka's ruling alliance to decide on the Uva PC election next week

July 20, Colombo: Coalition party of Sri Lanka's ruling alliance Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) announced that the party will decide next week on how it would contest the Uva Provincial Council election.

Western Provincial Council Minister Udaya Gammanpila said that the decision would be taken at the JHU central committee meeting to be held on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Mohammed Muzammil, Spokesman and the politburo member of the ruling coalition party National Freedom Front (NFF) also said that the decision of the party on the Uva Provincial Council election would be taken at the party politburo meeting to be held next week.

Muzammil said the party, led by Minister Wimal Weerawansa, would consider the political developments of the country and the government's response to the NFF's 12 proposals when taking the decision.

Earlier Minister of National Languages and Social Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that his party Democratic Left Front, a coalition party of the ruling alliance would contest the Uva Provincial Council election separately unless nomination was granted for its candidate.
