* Indian Air Force Chief to arrive in Sri Lanka today

July 15, Colombo: Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha will arrive in Sri Lanka today on a three-day visit.

The Indian Air Force has said that the Air Chief Marshal Raha's visit, planned several months ago, is a goodwill visit to the island nation and the visit is aimed at boosting bilateral military ties.

During the visit, Raha is expected to call on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. He will also meet with the chiefs of the three armed forces and other senior political and military officials.

Raha will get the opportunity to visit a couple of Sri Lankan Air Force's combat squadron at their air bases during his stay in the island nation, apart from inspecting some of their training facilities, India's Express News Service reported.
