* Sri Lankan President Chief Guest at 163rd Prize Giving Ceremony of Royal College

July 10, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest at the 163rd Prize Giving Ceremony of Royal College, the prestigious boys' school , held today at the Nava Rangahala auditorium of the school.

Since the school's inception in 1846 during the British colonial rule, the tradition has been that the head of the country will be the Chief Guest for the prize giving which is held to recognize all the students who excel academically.

Ministers Bandula Gunawardena, Duminda Dissanayake, Rauf Hakeem, and Priyankara Jayaratne, MP Vidura Wickremanayake, UNP MPs Gayantha Karunathilaka, Harsha de Silva, Eran Wickramaratne, Chief Justice Mohan Peiris, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Principal of Royal College Upali Gunasekara were present at the occasion.
