* National Kite Festival of Sri Lanka gets off ground tomorrow in Negombo

Aug 30, Colombo: The Kite Sri Lanka Organization will conduct the annual National Kite Festival, 'Nil Ahase Wasanthaya' (Spring of the Blue Sky) 2014 on August 31 at the Negombo Beach Park.

'Nil Ahase Wasanthaya' will be a festival for kite enthusiasts of all age groups. It will be held for both children and open groups under three categories - The Smallest Kite, The Most Creative Kite, and The Best Fighting Kite (Open).

The event will bring thousands of local and foreign kite lovers to the Negombo Beach Park to color the blue sky with colorful kites, the organizers say.

Kite Sri Lanka Organization is the most prominent Kite Association of the country functioning from 2008 with a view of popularizing kite flying as a sport island wide.
