* Sri Lanka Navy rescues two fishermen stranded in rough seas

Aug 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy has come to the aid of two fishermen who got stranded in the rough seas during the inclement weather.

A Naval P 474 patrol craft attached to the Western Naval Command rescued the two fishermen stranded in the rough seas off Bambalapitiya due to prevailing bad weather on 22nd August 2014. Their fishing boat had developed a mechanical problem.

Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Center has informed the Navy was informed of the incident and accordingly, under the direction of Naval Headquarters, the Western Naval Command had dispatched the P 474 to the rescue mission.
