Aug 12, Colombo: The Leader of Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) Ranil Wickremasinghe said today that the Government Press has become a printing press for the ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) to print the handbills and invitations.

The UNP leader expressed these views when he met the representatives of trade unions of Government Press. Six trade unions of the Government Press met the Opposition Leader today at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha.

The Opposition Leader said that the place where the polling cards are printed must not be used for these purposes.

He said the Government Printing Department which renders a valuable service to the public has deteriorated at present and it is now used for the necessities of the politicians instead of serving to people.
