* Sri Lanka Air Force investigates suspected aircraft debris found in western sea

May 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka Air Force media spokesman Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne said that a special investigation was underway regarding a debris of a wheel found by a group of fishermen in the western sea off Aluthgama.

The fisherman engaged in fishing about one kilometer away from the shore off Moragolla area in Aluthgama found the rim of a wheel, believed to be of an aircraft, entangled in their nets.

They have handed over the debris to the Aluthgama police and the police have informed the Sri Lanka Air Force, Police told media.

Wing Commander Seneviratne said that an expert would be consulted regarding the wheel and the Air Force has sent a team to inspect the debris.
