* Sri Lanka telecommunications authority to disconnect mobile connections with unverified ownership
Tue, May 27, 2014, 10:51 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 27, Colombo: The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has directed all the mobile telephone service providers to cancel all the SIMs that are not verified by owners.

Accordingly, the companies have provided a period of time for the customers to verify the ownership of the SIMs.

The users can dial #132# to check the details of their mobile phones and they can verify them or re-register the number in their name by visiting the company with their identity card.

However, the easy system also provides a facility to confirm the ownership by simply entering 99.
