May 26, New Delhi: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa was among the leaders of South Asian nations who attended the swearing-in ceremony of new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.

Along with Sri Lankan President, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom attended the ceremony while Bangladesh was represented by Speaker Shirin Chaudhury. Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam was also present at the occasion.
