* Sri Lanka's Eastern Merchants establishes subsidiary for spice trade

May 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Eastern Merchants PLC, a company trading in traditional commodities has established a subsidiary to further develop the trade of spices conducted by the group.

The registered officers of the subsidiary known as the Spice Lane (PVT) Limited will be located at Union Place in Colombo.

Board of directors of the new subsidiary comprises six of the Executive Directors of the parent company.

The trading activities of the parent company include the exports of traditional commodities Natural Rubber, Desiccated Coconut and Coconut Fiber as well as non-traditional goods such as Spices, especially cinnamon and black pepper.
