* Sri Lanka Navy finds debris of an Air Force helicopter in northern sea

May 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has found debris of a Sri Lankan Air Force helicopter believed to have crashed some time ago in the seas off Chalai in Mullaitivu in the North.

Navy spokesman, Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya has told media that a Navy diving team the Northern Naval Command has found the debris of the copter in the sea Sunday.

The spokesman said the debris have been salvaged and taken to the Kankasanthurai Harbor for further investigations.

He declined to comment on how or when the helicopter had crashed. He said the Navy and the AirForce are conducting investigations to ascertain how the helicopter ended up in the sea.
