May 20, London: The T20 World Champions, Sri Lanka reasserted their dominance in the game today by beating England by 9 runs in the only T20 match of their tour in England.

After winning the toss England set Sri Lanka to bat in The Oval. With Lahiru Thirimanne's 40, Kithuruwan Vithanage's 38 and Thisara Perera's 49 Sri Lanka scored 183 losing seven wickets.

In reply England chasing 184 managed to reach 174 in the 20 overs. Captain Lasith Malinga took three wickets to limit England.

Man of the Match is Thisara Perera for his 49 in just 20 balls.

Sri Lanka will play the first of five one-day matches on Thursday before the two Tests.
