May 08, Colombo: Key constituent party of Sri Lanka's governing party, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is expected to decide tomorrow whether there will be a general or a presidential election held next year.

The local media reported today that a decisive meeting of all SLFP parliamentarians and Ministers will be held tomorrow (May 09) evening under the patronage of party leader President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The national level elections to be held next will be discussed at tomorrow's meeting, according to reports, along with the SLFP's future strategy.

Presidential Secretariat sources have been quoted in the local media saying that it will be decided whether to first hold a general election or a Presidential election.
