* Sri Lankan court issues arrest warrant on Buddhist monk of extremist group

Mar 24, Colombo: A court in Sri Lanka has issued an arrest warrant on a Buddhist monk of an extremist nationalist group for violating a court order.

The Colombo Magistrate's Court issued a warrant for the arrest of General Secretary of Sihala Ravaya, Ven. Medille Pannaloka Thero after five monks from the organization had failed to appear in court today.

The monks were issued summons to appear in court for a case in connection with an incident that had taken place at the Law College on February 24th.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya had earlier noticed the five monks to appear in Court when court was informed that the monks had not marked their presence at the Keselwatte Police Station as directed by Court.
