* Sri Lanka Press Institute holds panel discussion on proper use of Social Media

Mar 17, Colombo: Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) will hold a panel discussion to create awareness among the public in social media and its proper use.

The panel discussion titled "Social Media and Facebook; the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" will be held on Tuesday (18) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the SLPI Auditorium in Colombo.

The panel discussion is aimed at being interactive and engaging for both panelists and participants alike, the SLPI said.

The free event has been organized with a view to creating awareness, especially among the younger generation, on not only the correct use of social media, but also to bear the right mindset from which the recent news should be addressed, the SLPI said in a a press release.

"We hope to reach out to both the older and younger generations on usage, supposed dangers and of course, the benefits of social media platforms," the SLPI said.
