* Youth street drama troupe of Sri Lanka Marxist party attacked by unknown group

Mar 13, Panadura: A street drama troupe of Sri Lanka's Marxist party, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) was assaulted by an unidentified group at the Panadura bus stand today.

The JVP media unit said the members of the troupe were attacked after they performed a street drama, which the party's art society has initiated several weeks back.

A member of the street drama group has told local media that they were assaulted by a group of people with iron rods at the end of the street drama.

He has said that five members of the group were severely injured and were admitted to the Panadura Hospital.

A complaint regarding the attack was lodged at Panadura Police.
