Wed, Mar 12, 2014, 11:56 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 12, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will hand over 50 luxury buses to the state owned Sri Lanka Transport Board tomorrow.

The ceremony of handing over the buses will be held under the patronage of the President with the participation of the Minister of Transport Kumar Welgama at Galle Face Green in Colombo.

The government imported the buses for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held in Sri Lanka last November.

The buses are to be deployed on routes between Maharagama - Galle and Kaduwela - Galle on the Southern expressway and the newly opened Colombo Outer Circular Highway.

Some of these buses are to be deployed in running to Matara after the second phase of the Southern Expressway opens later this month.
