* Sri Lanka SEC suspends Touchwood Investments trading
Tue, Mar 11, 2014, 11:36 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 11, Colombo: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has ordered the immediate suspension of the trading of Touchwood Investments shares at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

The regulator took the decision at its meeting held Tuesday to suspend the trading of Touchwood Investments shares with immediate effect following a deliberation on a referral forwarded by the CSE.

The SEC has decided that it is prudent to suspend the trading of Touchwood shares until the company releases the interim financial statements to the market and directed the CSE to suspend the trade according to the Rule 9.3(b)(i) of the Listing Rules .

The SEC last year decided to launch a fully-fledged investigation into the conduct of Touchwood Investments and ordered to suspend trading for three days.
