* Nishantha Ranatunga takes over Sri Lanka's budget airline as new chairman

Mar 06, Colombo: Nishantha Ranatunga, Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket, has been appointed as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka's state-run budget carrier Mihin Lanka with immediate effect, a Civil Aviation Ministry official said.

Prior to his Ranatunga's appointment, CEO of Sri Lanka's national carrier SriLankan Airlines Nishantha Wickremasinghe acted as the Chairman of Mihin Lanka while Kapila Chandrasena functioned as the CEO of the loss making airline.

Ranatunga will also hold his current position as Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket.
