* Gunmen kill two persons in Sri Lankan capital

June 30, Colombo: Two people were killed and two more were injured in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo late yesterday when and unidentified gunmen shot at the individuals.

The incident took place in Andrew Estate in Grandpass police area around 8.00 p.m.

The two assailants have reportedly come in a motorcycle and fled after firing leaving behind the bike they came.

The two injured were admitted to National Hospital. They were in serious condition, police said.

Two special police teams have been deployed to start investigations last night.

Police believe the motive behind the killings can be clash between rival underworld gangs or drugs.
