* FPS Sri Lanka appoints business development head

June 26, Colombo: FPS Sri Lanka - a founder member of the FPS Group of independent forwarders and consolidators - has appointed Senaka Premaratne to the newly-created post of head of business development, the company said in a release.

As the head of business development Premaratne will be responsible for strengthening the FPS Sri Lanka sales force both locally and internationally, and will spearhead increased collaboration with overseas agency partners to develop bi-directional traffic.

Premaratne has over 20 years' experience in sales and marketing, most recently as head of sales and marketing for GlaxoSmithKline Sri Lanka.

He has an MBA, and is also a Chartered Marketer and Certified Management Accountant.

FPS Sri Lanka, a worldwide Freight Logistics Services and NVOCC service provider, is a subsidiary of SAS Holdings Group, itself an integrated transport company in Sri Lanka.
