* Sri Lanka wins first ever Test series against England

June 24, Headingley: Sri Lanka beat England by 100 runs with one ball to spare in the second and final Test at Headingley on Tuesday, winning their first ever Test in England and Test series 1-0.

Sri Lanka turned around what seemed like under-performed first innings to set a daunting target of 350 for England to chase a in the second innings with the captain Angelo Mathews' historic 160.

England quickly lost 5 wickets for 57 in reply yesterday on Day 4 but resisted today until the penultimate ball when Shaminda Eranga bowled out James Anderson letting Moeen Ali's unbeaten 108 go in vein.

The winning captain Angelo Mathews is the Man of the Match for his 160.

Sri Lanka won all the formats including the T20 and the ODI series against England in this tour.
