June 22, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to visit the Maldives on Wednesday, Maldivian news website Haveeru reported.

The Sri Lankan President will be staying in Maldives for two days according to the report.

However, the no details on the purpose or nature of his visit were immediately made available.

Sri Lankan President's intention to visit the Maldives was first announced when he met his Maldivian counterpart President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in India at the sidelines of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony in New Delhi last month.
