The airline said in a statement that it is awaiting instructions from Pakistani authorities to operate flights to that airport.

"We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused. We are waiting for instructions from Pakistani authorities for clearance to operate flights," the statement said.

The Airline advised the passengers to contact 1979 for further information.

The Pakistani army said 10 gunmen disguised as police guards stormed the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi Sunday night and attacked a terminal with machine guns and a rocket launchers.

The Army commandos battled the gunmen for more than five hours to gain control of the airport. The attack had left 23 people, mostly security guards and terminal staff, dead and scores injured.

However, the BBC reported that the gunmen have resumed the fight on Monday, although the army has said that all ten gunmen in the earlier attack were killed.

Pakistan's Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.
