* Court grants bail to three Sri Lankan union leaders charged of violating court order

June 02, Colombo: A Sri Lankan court today granted bail three union leaders arrested for violating a court order.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage today granted bail to three trade Union Leaders including Ceylon Teachers' Union President Joseph Stalin and Health Services Trade Union Alliance President Saman Rathnapriya.

The three trade union leaders attached to the Joint Trade Union Alliance have allegedly disregarded a court order banning them from entering the Hyde Park ground on May Day and attempted to march towards the ground through Union Place, the police said.

They were released on sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.
