* HIV positive man arrested in Sri Lanka for raping his daughter

July 05, Colombo: Children and Women Bureau of Sri Lanka police has arrested an AIDS patient for raping his underage daughter and infecting the minor girl with the deadly decease.

The man, a mason by profession, is a 40 year old father of three children. He has raped his 16-year old daughter twice in 2013 when her mother was not at home.

Police investigations have revealed that the mother was also HIV positive and the couple was receiving treatments from the Colombo National Hospital for their disease without the knowledge of the children.

When a rash appeared on her body sometime after her father raped her, the victimized child, who knew of her parents' condition have sought medical treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

During the medical examination it has been found that the child was also HIV positive and the hospital authorities have alerted the police.

The suspect has been arrested at his house in Negombo and he will be produced in court for rape of a minor.
