Jan 28, Colombo: The Opposition Leader of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremasinghe says that the main political parties in the country are facing many difficulties under the present political culture.

Wickremasinghe addressing an event at the United National Party (UNP) headquarters, Sirikotha said that the UNP and even the key coalition party of the governing party, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) need to be saved.

According to the Opposition Leader, the current political culture in the country has posed many difficulties to the two main political parties and therefore, there is an urgent need for a change in the country's present political culture in order to save the political parties.

He added that the quality of politicians and the politics practiced need to be improved as a matter of urgency.
