Fri, Jan 24, 2014, 10:38 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Jan 24, Colombo: A 22-member student delegation of Pakistan National College of Arts is on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka from 23 January to 1 February 2014.

The delegation visited the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, today and the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Major General (Retd.) Qasim Qureshi welcomed the student group.

Welcoming the delegation, the High Commissioner has expressed the hope that the visit would add value to the already strengthened bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

He added that more frequent people-to-people contacts through enhanced student and faculty exchanges between universities of the two countries would further promote this relationship. The High Commission would continue to patronize and support such initiatives, he said.

Earlier the delegation visited the University of Visual and Performing Arts Colombo. The national College of Arts Lahore and the University of Visual and Performing Arts Colombo signed a MoU for Cooperation in 2010. The students visited the art gallery of the university and also witnessed the cultural performance at the faculty of dance and music.

The delegation would also visit Galle, Kandy, Anuradhapura and Sigiriya during their stay in Sri Lanka.
