Jan 20, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will leave the country today for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official visit, state run radio Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) said.

The President accompanied by a delegation is expected to hold discussions with the UAE leaders on consolidating bilateral and diplomatic relations.

The UAE has expressed keen interest in undertaking a substantial investment in Sri Lanka and sent a business delegation to participate in the Commonwealth Business Forum that was held on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Colombo in November last year.
