Jan 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will elect a new Central Committee of the party next month.

The new Central Committee of the party will be elected at the party's national convention to be held next month.

The JVP said its 7th National Convention to bring socialism for national unity, social equity and national independence will be held at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on 2nd February, 2014.

The party said it will take decisions important to the country and the people at the Convention.
