* New Foreign Secretary appointed in Sri Lanka

Jan 17, Colombo: The Additional Secretary of the External Affairs Ministry, Kshenuka Seneviratne has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs with effect from today, Ministry sources said.

Ms. Seneviratne will be replacing Foreign Secretary Karunatilaka Amunugama who is retiring at the age of 60.

Amunugama is reportedly to take up an appointment at another Ministry.

Ms. Seneviratne earlier served as Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to UK.
