Thu, Jan 16, 2014, 12:56 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Jan 15, Chennai: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) will take 52 Sri Lankan fishermen released from Indian custody to Sri Lanka and hand them over to Sri Lankan authorities tomorrow.

The ICG will bring a similar number of Indian fishermen released from Sri Lanka's jails a Coast Guard release said today, according to PTI.

ICG ship Vishwast will undertake the transfer of fishermen at the International maritime Boundary Line in the sea between the two countries.

The Tamil Nadu government has directed the release of 52 fishermen from the Puzhal prison in Chennai.

The transfer is a result of the discussions the two countries had in New Delhi today on the fishermen's issue.
