Jan 08, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Treasury bill rates declined sharply at the weekly auction held today for the re-issue of Rs. 15 billion with the one-year yield falling the most by 53 basis points from last week's rate .
At the weekly primary auction, the re-issue of Rs.15 billion maturing Treasury bills was oversubscribed with bids amounting Rs. 66.479 billion being received, the Central Bank said. The Bank has decided to accept Rs. 18.579 billion from the auction.
The one-year yield fell to 7.42 percent from last week's 7.95 percent. The Bank accepted Rs. 13.579 billion on one-year T-bills.
Six month tenor bills rate declined by 23 basis points to 7.20 percent from last week's 7.53 percent and the three-month tenor bills declined to 7 percent from last week's 7.42 percent.
