* Sri Lanka's Vidullanka constructs 1.75 MW mini-hydro plant

Feb 25, Colombo: Sri Lanka's private mini power generator Viddullanka PLC has commenced construction of a 1.75 MW Mini-Hydro Power Plant (MHPP) in the Badulla district.

The Rideepana MHPP will be owned by the Rideepana Hydro ( Pvt) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Vidullanka PLC.

The project is estimated to cost Rs. 440 million. Upon Commissioning, it will generate 5.7 GWh of electricity to the national grid, the company said in a stock market disclosure Tuesday.

Vidullanka, a BOI approved company founded in 1997, constructs and operates hydroelectric power projects.
