* Sri Lanka's Elections Department requests disabled persons eligible to vote to send in their applications

Feb 24, Colombo: The Elections Department of Sri Lanka has requested disabled persons who are eligible to cast their votes at the forthcoming Western and Southern Provincial Council elections to send in their applications to the election offices in the areas where the elections will be held.

Additional Elections Commissioner R.M.L. Ratnayake said the relevant application forms could be obtained from the election offices in the respective areas.

The applications need to be submitted to the elections offices before midnight on March 21st in order to issue the permits for the disabled persons to cast their votes.

The duly completed application forms of the disabled persons have to be handed over to the relevant election offices along with medical certificates.
