* Sri Lankan minister injured in road accident

Feb 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Minister of Education Services Duminda Dissanayake has sustained injuries in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday.

The vehicle of Minister Dissanayake had collided with a tanker parked by the side of the highway at Padeniya of Kurunegala district around 3.00 a.m. today, the Police said.

The Minister was taken to the Kurunegala District Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital, local media reports said.

It has been reported that minister's injuries are not life threatening.

A police spokesman said Minister's driver and a security officer had also suffered injuries and admitted to the Kurunegala Hospital.
