Apr 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Ministry of Health has warned the public to refrain from purchasing medicinal drugs online.

Director of the National Drugs Authority, Dr. Hemantha Benaragama has said that sale of drugs online is not regulated and many places sell low quality drugs which do not meet the standards.

The official has added that several incidents of fatalities have been reported due to consumption of such drugs sold online and advised the public no tot consume such drugs since they are dispensed without the assistance of experts.
