* Sri Lankan President orders reduced toll on expressways during New Year

Apr 10, Colombo: The toll for all categories of vehicles on Sri Lanka's expressways has been reduced for the benefit of New Year travelers on the orders of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The reduced toll charges will go into effect from midnight Thursday up to midnight of April 25 on the directive of the President, the Government Information Department announced.

The new reduced toll for vehicles on the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway will be Rs. 200, while Rs. 350 will be charged from vehicles from Kottawa to Matara and Rs. 300 from Kottawa to Galle on Southern Expressway. Toll for Matara-Kaduwela will be Rs. 400.
