* Grand parade to welcome Sri Lanka cricket champions today

Apr 08, Colombo: Sri Lanka's cricket authority, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the country's cricket-craze masses are readying to give the championship winning national cricket team a roaring welcome today when they arrive this afternoon.

The World Champion National Cricket Team will arrive at the Katunayake international airport at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday from Dhaka.

The team will attend a press conference at the VIP Lounge and a group photograph will be taken for the benefit of the media, the SLC announced.

The Champion players will be taken in an Open Top bus at 4:30 p.m. from BIA on the Old Colombo -Negombo road, Seeduwa, Ja-Ela, Kandana, Mahabage, Hendala, Wattala, Peliyagoda, Orugodawatte, Borrella, Kannatte Roundabout, Baudhaloka Mawatha, Bambalapitiya, Galle Road to Galle Face Green around 7:30 pm.

Sri Lanka Cricket invited all loyal cricket fans to line the roads up to Galle Face Green and welcome the Champion National Cricketers.

Sri Lanka beat India by six wickets to win the ICC WorldTwenty20 Championship on Sunday at Mirpur, Bangladesh after dethroning reigning champions West Indies at the semi-final.
