Sun, Apr 6, 2014, 10:41 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Apr 06, Colombo: Sri Lanka savors victory in Mirpur, beating India by six wickets at the World Twenty20 final.

Kumar Sangakkara finished his T20 international career with 52 as Sri Lanka handily took 132-4 with 13 balls to spare against India's anemic 130-4.

Following a 40-minute rain delay, Lasith Malinga asked India to bat first. Holding the World Cup and the Champions Trophy, India could not bring home the trifecta. Despite a strong showing by Virat Kohli with 77, India proved no match for Sri Lanka's bowlers.
