Elections to the Uva Province are expected to take place this year since the term of the current council is due to expire this September.

The party's Leadership Council has decided to commence the preparatory work from now on in order to gather the party's strength before the elections.

The Leadership Council will also look at appointing organizers to electorates in the province that are in need of new appointments.
