Sept 27, Colombo: Kramski Lanka (Private) Limited, a BOI-approved German business venture in the Katunayake Exports Processing Zone will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Friday, 27 September 2013 with an expansion of its production capacity at an investment outlay of Rs. 300 million.
Inaugurating anniversary celebrations, Investment promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena will open the newly built factory building and commission the production operations in the new extension. German Ambassador to Colombo Dr. Jurgan Mohard will also participate as a special guest.
Kramski Lanka General Manager Nilantha Edirisinghe said the production capacity will be expanded with the operation of the new wing, which will generate approximately 100 additional employment opportunities in the field of molding and tooling accounting for a 40 percent increase in the current workforce.
Kramski Lanka, a subsidiary of Kramski GmbH, a global tools manufacturer headquartered in Pforzheim, Germany, was founded in 1993 to produce high precision components for stamping dies and molds for the European market.
The company forecasts a revenue of US$ 10 million in the current financial year which is a 10 percent increase compared to the last year actual.
Since its beginning of operations with 15 employees, the company has steadily increased to its present strength of over 230 employees.
Since 1999, Kramski Lanka has been building molds and running overmoulding production for customers in Europe, North America and Asia. Among its main exports are plastic over molded electrical and electronic components, injection moulds, stamping tools, dies & punches, bushings, golf putters and golf related products.
Kramski Lanka has attained ISO/TS16949 : 2009 certification, being the first and only company in Sri Lanka up to now to receive this certification.
