Sept 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka' election monitor Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) says a stock of counted ballot papers were found in a school in the Puttalam district of North Western Province today.
Janitors of St Andrew's College in Puttalam have found over 1,000 counted ballot papers when they were cleaning the school after it was used over the weekend as a counting center. They have informed the police and CaFFE. The school is one of the four counting centers in Puttalam district.
The election monitor had visited the site and found that the ballot papers were marked for ruling party candidates.
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya is scheduled to arrive at the college to investigate the incident.
