Sept 23, Colombo: Crossed over former opposition parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekera contesting the provincial council election from ruling United people's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has received the highest number of preferential votes recorded in the provincial council election history.
Jayasekera contesting for the North Western Provincial Council has received 336,327 votes from the Kurunegala district at the elections held Saturday.
