Sept 19, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Election Department will establish a center to coordinate complaints relating to the upcoming elections for Central, Northern and North Western Provincial Councils on 21st September.
The Center of Coordination of Complaints will be set up at the Election Secretariat in Rajagiriya, the Election Secretariat said in a media release Thursday.
The Secretariat has introduced special telephone and fax numbers to direct complaints relating to Saturday's provincial council polls.
The telephone and fax numbers can be used for sending complaints to the Commissioner of Elections on the day prior to the elections from 3:00 p.m. on 20th September till 5:00 p.m. on 21st September.
In Central Province complaints can be called in at 011-2877073 for the Kandy District 011-2877074 for the Matale District and 011-2877075 for the Nuwara Eliya District.
Three numbers have been introduced for the Northern Province. They are 011-2877076 for the Jaffna District, 011-2877078 for the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts and 011-2877081 for the Mannar and Vavuniya Districts.
In North Western Province complaints can be called in at 011-2877065 for the Kurunegala District, 011-2877069 for the Puttalam District.
If a number is busy there is no objection to using a number allocated to another district, the Election Secretariat said.
