Sept 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya has given another opportunity to cast postal votes for the upcoming provincial council elections.
For the postal voters who could not cast their votes on the 9th and 10th September were given another opportunity to mark their ballots on 12th, 13th and 14th September.
However, for those who were unable to cast the ballots on the additional days are given a one last opportunity to exercise their franchise on Wednesday, 18th September, the Election Secretariat announced today.
The postal voters can mark their ballots from 8:30 a.m.to 12:00 noon at the District Election Offices and at the Election Secretariat in Colombo.
Returning officers will deploy official observers to observe the voting process.
Contesting political parties, independent groups and approved observer organizations could also send their observers to these voting centers, the Secretariat said.
The Secretariat said it will not grant further extensions.
The postal voters are required to present the National Identity Card or an identity document approved by the Department of Elections.
Elections to Central, North Western and Northern provincial councils will be held Saturday, 21st September.
