Sept 04, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government is seeking public views on a draft National Housing Policy prepared by the construction center to strengthen the national housing initiative.
The draft National Housing Policy will be officially presented to Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa on September 6.
Minister Weerawansa has said the draft policy would be made public on Friday at an event held at the BMICH in Colombo.
He explained that the draft policy is based on the past housing and habitation experiences in the country.
According to the Minister, the policy is aimed at ensuring the public's right to live in stable, qualitative, affordable, sustainable, secure and eco-friendly houses.
He added that the National Housing Policy is in line with the Mahinda Chintana policies.
