Oct 30, Colombo: Senior leaders of Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) will meet on November 1st to discuss the proposed reforms to restructure the fractured party.
The discussion will be held between UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and former deputy leaders and parliamentarians Karu Jayasuriya and Sajith Premadasa.
The discussion at the party headquarters, Sirikotha, will focus on introducing reforms to the party in order to get the party to record electoral victories at future elections.
UNP sources say that the discussion on party reforms and the leadership issue is expected to finish making some progress at the November 1st meeting.
The decisions have to be submitted to the Executive Committee this week for it to take a final decision on the issue and the decisions reached would be presented to the party's Working Committee that is to meet on November 4th.
The final decision will be taken by the Working Committee.
