Oct 29, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has requested a report on the killing of a Sri Lankan student in Britain.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said today that it had requested a report from the Sri Lankan High Commission in the United Kingdom on the killing of a 25 year old Sri Lankan student found stabbed to death Sunday night in Yorkshire.
The Secretary to the Ministry Karunatilaka Amunugama has said that the Ministry was waiting for the report to decide on what further action need to be taken over the murder, local Daily Mirror reported.
Thavisha Peiris, the Sri Lankan student originally from Colombo, had arrived in Sheffield in 2011 to study at Sheffield Hallam University. He was working as a pizza delivery man when he was stabbed to death in Sheffield Sunday night.
South Yorkshire Police have arrested three men in connection with the stabbing, Yorkshire Post reported.
