Oct 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says that taking loans and engaging in gambling activities would not help the development of the country.
JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva says the production process in a country needs to be developed in order to develop a country.
He explained that the country is blessed with a fertile soil and water resources with 103 rivers, but the government has failed to properly manage these resources to improve the country's production process.
He observed that the country is being pushed further into a debt trap by the government and the people are continuously burdened due to the wrong policies.
According to Silva, there are now internal clashes in the government and attempt are being made to cover such clashes by claiming that the JVP has lost its base.
